The Caleidoscope Collection

Dyed, reconstructed wood veneers that replicate natural woods such as Ash, Cherry, Ebony, Mahogany, Oak, Rosewood, Teak, and Walnut.  In addition to the natural color of these species, the Caleidoscope Collection includes colored and frosted reconstructed veneers in Ash, Oak, and Obeche.

The wood species utilized to manufacture these veneers is the fast growing Obeche tree from the managed Ghana Timber Plantations in Africa.  After cutting, the veneers are dyed to the color of the species being replicated and are then layered and pressed together to reform a “log”.  The log is then re-sliced at different angles to form the new species.  This process utilizes sophisticated computer technology to visually see what pattern or texture will be manufactured before re-slicing the log back into veneer form.

The veneers are produced in uniform sized logs called “blocks” and are cut into uniform sheet sizes with consistent grain which are easy for fabricators to handle and lay up.  The uniform sheet size reduces waste which translates to cost efficiencies.

This collection offers the specifier and end-user an eco-conscious alternative to some of the most commonly used species and to some of the more scarce, expensive, and exotic species.
